Another big win for the Bruins last night!! Let's hope they can keep up the momentum and win in Vancouver, then play for Lord Stanley's cup on home ice on Monday.
The weather is predicted to be extremely hot again today, it should be a little cooler near the coast, so stop by and get your beach supplies and check out our ongoing fireworks sale.
We are having a 50% off sale, or buy one get one free. Some items have already been marked down more than 50%.
An update on the new fireworks bill in NH: it should be on the governor's desk today for signing, meaning by this time next week we should be selling new product, including festival balls (reloadable artillery shells) A reloadable aerial is an aerial mortar that includes one or more mortar tubes and several reloadable aerial shells. The shells are placed inside the mortar tube, a long quick-burning fuse is lit, and the item is fired into the sky. These items are consumer versions of the mortar-based fireworks used in commercial fireworks displays.
As always you must be 21 to purchase fireworks in NH. You also should check with local authorities to see if fireworks are legal in your community.

June 8, part 2

Just some information from Wikipidea:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fireworks are a class of explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. The most common use of a firework is as part of a fireworks display. A fireworks event (also called a fireworks show or pyrotechnics) is a display of the effects produced by firework devices. Fireworks competitions are also regularly held at a number of places. Fireworks (devices) take many forms to produce the four primary effects: noise, light, smoke, and floating materials (confetti for example). They may be designed to burn with colored flames and sparks including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and silver. Displays are common throughout the world and are the focal point of many cultural and religious celebrations.
Fireworks were invented in ancient China in the 7th century to scare away evil spirits, as a natural extension of one of the Four Great Inventions of ancient China, gunpowder. Such important events and festivities as Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival were and still are times when fireworks are guaranteed sights. China is the largest manufacturer and exporter of fireworks in the world.
Fireworks are generally classified as to where they perform, either as a ground or aerial firework. In the latter case they may provide their own propulsion (skyrocket) or be shot into the air by a mortar (aerial shell).

It's only a few weeks until the Fourth of July and we are gearing up for the busiest time of year. We are expecting new product soon in addition to the store full of items that we already have. We are also waiting for passage of a new bill from the state house which will re-legalize festival balls, a product that is very popular with "pyromaniacs." We will let you know as soon as this bill becomes law.
Hope everyone enjoys their day and hope to see you soon

Ever wonder why we celebrate with fireworks on the Fourth of July? Here is a brief answer from "answers.com"
The day will be most memorable in the history of America. I am apt to believe
that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary
festival…It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade…bonfires and
illuminations (fireworks) from one end of this continent to the other, from this time
forward forevermore.
So wrote John Adams on July 3, 1776

It's another beautiful day here on the seacoast, just a tad cool. Might be a good idea to talk about safety concerns when using fireworks.
1.ALWAYS read the warning or caution label carefully and follow all directions.
2.KEEP fireworks out of children's reach. Children should not handle and light fireworks. Adult supervision is a must
3.NEVER place any part of your body over the firework when lighting it. Eye protection should be worn when lighting fireworks.
4.ALWAYS light one firework at a time. All other fireworks should be kept at a safe distance to prevent accidental lighting.
ALWAYS use fireworks outdoors and away from buildings, plants, dry grass, and combustible materials.
5.ALWAYS have water handy. Put all used fireworks in a bucket of water. If a firework fails to work after lighting, wait 15-20 minutes and then put it in a bucket of water.
NEVER try to re-light a firework if it fails to ignite.
6. NEVER put fireworks in your pocket. Keep fireworks in their original packing until you are ready to use them.
7.NEVER point or throw a firework at another person or animal.
NEVER hold a firework in hand.
8.NEVER drink alcohol and light fireworks at the same time.
